After receiving a report that a Pleasantville man took "a quantity of pills" before leaving home the night of August 2, the Mount Pleasant Police Department notified Sleepy Hollow to keep on the lookout for his red Ford Crossover.

Sleepy Hollow Police, at 9:33 p.m, responded to the Sleepy Hollow Road area to look for the 67-year-old driver and his vehicle.

Briarcliff Manor Police reported discovering the man on Long Hill Road East after he reportedly hit a few mailboxes with his car.

Police said they—knowing the man was reportedly under the influence of drugs—tested his blood.

The Pleasantville man was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Briarcliff Manor Police did not specify the type of drug found in his blood.

He was processed and released on his own recognizance with an August 14 court date, police said.
