In Mount Pleasant, Man Reportedly Abandons Car

The Mount Pleasant Police Department reportedly contacted Sleepy Hollow Police about an abandoned vehicle traced back to a village resident Saturday, Sept. 8 at 12:55 a.m.

Officers went to the owner’s residence at College Avenue and told the owner’s roommate the vehicle was being towed.

At 1:34 a.m., Mount Pleasant PD reported locating the driver and brought the person to SHPD headquarters. The driver had been found by police walking along Route 448 holding the license plates and the registration sticker of the car.

Mount Pleasant Police later discovered the driver abandoned his newly purchased car because it wasn't operational. However, he still received a summons for driving an unregistered vehicle.
