A Pleasantville woman received an unwelcome early wake-up call on Christmas, according to her landlord.
The building's owner, a Valhalla resident, called Pleasantville Police at 11:17 a.m. on December 25 and said one of her tenants had heard the doorbell ringing numerous times between 1 and 1:30 a.m. that morning.
According to the tenant, when she answered the door, she saw the Manville Road building's antique brass mailbox had been damaged.
Three of the seven mailboxes had been noticeably tampered with, the woman said.
The landlord told police the unit is worth approximately $3,000.
Police attempted to contact the three affected residents to find out if their mail had been taken, but were unsuccessful.
Police photographed the scene and the landlord completed an owner's deposition.
