'Molly' Arrest in Dobbs Ferry

Police said the Mercy College student and Yorktown Heights resident was found with the street drug and some alcohol during Ferry Festa.

Police in Dobbs Ferry said a Mercy College student was arrested during Ferry Festa last weekend at about 2:10 p.m. after officers observed him remove an item from his backpack and hide it in the front of his pants.

Police said the 19-year-old from Yorktown Heights initially refused to turn over the item, but eventually gave police a clear plastic bag with seven more clear plastic bags containing "a white rocky substance" believed to be MDMA drug known as "Molly."

Nicholas J. Caruso also had a box of Bud Light beers in his backpack and a small bottle of Ciroc vodka, police said.

He was arrested at the scene, charged with D Felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and a violation for possessing alcohol under the age of 21.

He was arraigned and later released on $7,500 bail with a returnable court date.

Also on October 5, police issued three tickets on Main Street to under 21-year-olds who had allegedly had open alcoholic containers, the department said.

An 18-year-old Farmingdale man, a 19-year-old East Meadow man and a 19-year-old Syracuse man all had cups with beer on the street, police said.

Note: Arrests do not indicate convictions.
