Pleasantville Appoints New Police Officer

Woods comes to Pleasantville from New York City's police force.

The Village of Pleasantville appointed Thomas Woods as a police officer last night.

According to Village Adminitrator Patti Dwyer, "We had a vacancy. Somebody left and went to Buchanan, it's a budgeted position."

Dwyer said the department hopes to use P.O. Woods in undercover work, as he is not yet known to the community.

"We're bringing him in [during a special meeting], because we didn't want his face to be used," she explained. "The chief thought he would be good to use in undercover operations."
