A would-be burglar may have been spooked after breaking into a safe at early last week, the reported.
The department received a call reporting the attempted burglary at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26.
Employees of the bar discovered a safe had been cut open in the basement sometime during the overnight.
Police believe the safe was broken into while the bar was open the night before by a patron who snuck downstairs.
While the safe was open, nothing was missing.
Police are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence at the Bedford Road business. No arrests have been made as of Monday, July 2.
