Pleasantville Police Blotter: Car Roof Shattered; Missing Laptop

The following information is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from July 30 — Aug. 5, 2012:

Sunday, Aug. 5

11:40 a.m. — A Maryland woman called police and reported her car's sunroof had been shattered while it was parked on Hopper Street. Police filed a report of the alleged criminal mischief.

Saturday, Aug. 4

10:49 a.m. — A Highview Terrace resident reported her home's mailbox had been damaged sometime overnight. Police responded to the street and reported that two total mailboxes appeared to be damaged. One resident told police he heard a loud noise at approximately 11:30 p.m. the night before.

Friday, Aug. 3

4:00 p.m. — A Bedford Road resident reported that someone may have entered her apartment through an unlocked window on July 31. She said nothing appeared damaged or stolen.

Thursday, Aug. 2

9:30 a.m. — A employee called police and reported a parishioner had discovered damaged statues and headstones at All Souls Cemetery. . The church has since . Police have for DNA testing.

Wednesday, Aug. 1

2:14 a.m. — New York State Police notified the village's police department that they received a call about a possible dispute and assault on Washington Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and interviewed a Pleasantville man, who was described as "highly intoxicated." The man told police he had been arguing with a cab driver who took his cell phone and wallet. However, when police asked the man for identification, he produced his wallet. Officers searched the area for the cab in question, but it had left the area. No further action was taken.

Tuesday, July 31

5:50 p.m. — A Bedford Road resident called 911 and reported she was missing a laptop and Internet router. Police filed a report of the alleged larceny.

Monday, July 30

6:48 a.m. — A Bedford Road resident called police and stated his upstairs neighbors were engaged in a verbal argument. Police responded to the scene and interviewed a man and woman, who were cooperative. The woman said the pair was fighting over the man's whereabouts the night before. Officers reported there were no accusations or signs of physicality and no further action was taken.
