Pleasantville Police Blotter: Woman Allegedly Tries to Return Stolen Merchandise

The following is from the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from Feb. 27 — March 4, 2012:

Sunday, March 4

7:52 a.m. — A Virginia Place resident called 911 and reported hearing furniture being thrown around and people yelling in the apartment underneath hers. Police responded to the scene and reported there was only one woman alone in the apartment and no sign of furniture being thrown.

Friday, March 2

10:04 p.m. — A employee called police and reported there was a group of unwanted youths hanging around without purchasing anything in the store. Police reported the youths were sent on their way.

10:43 a.m. — Police dispatched the to the scene of a commercial fire alarm at 175 Tompkins Ave.

Thursday, March 1

5:06 p.m. — A Pleasantville resident came into police headquarters and reported she had been receiving numerous phone calls at her place of work——from a man who said he was trying to collect a debt. She said he was rude and would not given her anymore information. The detective called the number and reported speaking with a man who had an Indian accent. The man agreed to stop calling, but did not provide the detective with anymore information and hung up the phone. The woman was given an identity theft packet to fill out just in case and said she would contact police if she continued to receive the calls.

3:30 p.m. — An employee of called police and reported a woman had come into the store and attempted to return merchandise the employee believed may have been stolen. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect was gone. The employee stated she did not observe the suspect taking any items or have security cameras. The incident was reported for the record.

Tuesday, Feb. 28

2:24 p.m. — A woman came into police headquarters and reported a patient of hers was making unwanted advances and leaving her unwanted gifts at her place of work, as well as calling her at work. Police called the party involved and requested he cease making contact with the complainant.

Monday, Feb. 27

5:15 p.m. — Police performed a traffic stop on Pleasantville Road and subsequently arrested a 37-year-old Mohegan Lake woman for allegedly driving a vehicle with a suspended registration.
