Pleasantville Police: Gas Siphoned; Pills Stolen

Here's a look at some of the recent crimes investigated by the Pleasantville Police Department:
Items Stolen from Home
A Broadway resident called police at 5:21 a.m. on July 9 to report several items had gone missing from her home.
The woman said $500 in cash, a $3,000 necklace and 88 Oxycodone pills were missing. Separately, an additional $88 in cash was gone.
Gas Siphoned from Vehicle
The owner of a tree care company went into police headquarters on July 3 to report one of his commercial vehicles had gas siphoned from it while parked on Village Lane.
Police said about 20 gallons of gas were taken from the vehicle.
Missing Laptop
A Broadway resident called police on the afternoon of July 4 to report a laptop had been taken from his home.
Fake Check Payout
A Sunnyside Avenue resident went into police headquarters on July 9 and reported someone had used a fake check to steal $14,850 from his Case Bank checking account.
The man told police the check was made out to a woman he does not know and had been falsely endorsed.
Basement Break-In
Police responded to a Marble Avenue resident at 7:40 a.m. on July 10 after a resident called police to report a break-in.
The woman said someone had broken into her basement overnight, but nothing appeared to be missing. Police noted a broken door and muddy footprints in the basement.
The woman was advised by police to notify the landlord about the basement's insecurities. Police said they would wait for follow-up from the landlord.
