Police Log: Sandy Responses in Briarcliff Manor

Two weeks after Sandy, parts of Briarcliff Manor continue to recover from the storm's strong winds and rain.

The Briarcliff Manor Police Department received dozens of calls reporting down trees, power lines and other hazardous situations throughout the village on October 29.

Here's a summary of the calls:

4:55 p.m. — Tree branches on wires on Chappaqua Road near the intersection of Deertree Lane

5:00 p.m. — Trees on wires and a broken pole on Washburn Road near the intersection of Todd Lane

5:05 p.m. — Tree down on primary and secondary lines on Longhill Road West at Shellbark Lane with sparking

5:15 p.m. — Trees on wires on South State Road near the intersection of Longhill Road East

6:05 p.m. — Trees on wires and a primary down on Central Drive

6:20 p.m. — Wires down and burning on Chappaqua Road near Old Chappaqua Road

6:25 p.m. — Trees on wires on Long Hill Road East near Central Drive West

6:30 p.m. — Large pine tree down on a primary line on Elm Road near the intersection of South State Road, blocking access for emergency vehicles and residents

6:50 p.m. — Trees on wires and two poles down blocking a portion of Scarborough Road near Holbrook Road

6:55 p.m. — Tree on wires and a broken pole on Meadow Road

7:35 p.m. — Tree on wires and broken poles, with sparking, on Larch Road

7:50 p.m. — Transformer fire on Larch Road

7:55 p.m. — Tree on wires and primary down on Pine Road

8:15 p.m. — Tree on wires and a live primary down on Pleasantville Road near Buckhout Road

8:20 p.m. — A seconardy line down low, blocking road, on Poplar Road

8:25 p.m. — Tree on wires and a broken pole on Park Avenue

8:30 p.m. — Pole on fire on Scarborough Road near Brookwood Drive

8:30 p.m. — Tree on wires and transformer fire on Round Hill Drive near Pleasantville Road

9:15 p.m. — Tree on wires, blocking roadway, on Chappaqua Road

9:15 p.m. — Tree on wires blocking road Long Hill Road at Elm Road and at South State Road

9:15 p.m. — Tree on wires blocking road on Elm Road at South State Road

9:15 p.m. — Two trees on wires blocking Scarborough Road—at Old Briarcliff Road and Leicester Road

9:20 p.m. — Tree on wires blocking portion of Long Hill Road West

9:20 p.m. — Wire down blocking portion of Poplar Road at Dalmaney Road

9:20 p.m. — Tree on wires blocking Longhill Road West at Quinn Road

9:20 p.m. — Tree on wires blocking portion of Sleepy Hollow Road

9:20 p.m. — Tree on wires blocking Albany Post Road at Scarborough Road

10:20 p.m. — Tree on wires and broken pole on Pine Road
