Rockland Teen Charged with Pot Possession in Briarcliff

Police arrested the teenager while he and two others were parked on Woodside Avenue.

A New City teen faces an unlawful possession of marijuana violation in Briarcliff Manor following his August 3 arrest.

A Briarcliff Manor police officer on routine patrol reported observing a plastic bag, possibly containing marijuana, on the back seat of a vehicle while it was parked in a Woodside Avenue parking lot, according to the department.

Three youths were in the vehicle, including the 16-year-old New City resident. He was reportedly sitting in the back seat, where the marijuana was spotted.

He was arrested and processed at police headquarters and released to a relative.

The driver and second passenger were not charged.

The teen is due in Village Court on August 14.
