State Police, Good Samaritan Stopped Woman from Jumping from TZ Bridge

A woman was pulled to safety before she tried to jump from the Tappan Zee Bridge this afternoon, State Police said. 

State Police stationed at Troop T Barracks in Tarrytown report that the woman, age 54, had pulled over her car in the southbound right lane of the bridge around 3:07 p.m. Police started to receive 911 calls that the woman had then gotten out of her car and climbed the right shoulder fence. 

State Police, along with an unnamed good samaritan were able to grab the woman and pull her back. 

She was brought to police headquarters and then taken onto the Westchester County Medical Center for mental evaluation.
