Good samaritans restrained a 20-year-old man before he was able to jump off the Tappan Zee Bridge Tuesday, according to New York State Police.

The incident occurred just before 2 p.m., when authorities in Tarrytown began receiving multiple calls reporting a possible jumper on the bridge.

Citizens held the man until troopers arrived on the scene and took the unnamed man into custody. No injuries were reported.

The man was transported to Westchester Medical Center for an evaluation.
