Village Manager: Keep Dogs Leashed in Briarcliff

Dogs should be leashed—and cleaned up after—when out for walks in the village.

Briarcliff Manor's village manager is asking residents to remember to keep their dogs leashed while on village property.

The Police Department, Philip Zegarelli said in his most recent report, "has been receiving a growing number of complaints all centered on dogs being off leash and running at large. This has been occurring particularly in the area behind our Youth Center and in Law Park."

Among the recent complaints was one on the morning of July 27, when a local man reported his dog had been attacked by an off-leash canine behind Atria.

"We have directed the PD to paying special attention to this problem and tickets will be issued for violations," said Zegarelli."

He added, "...you are also responsible to picking up after your dogs."
