Briarcliff Road Paving Slated for September

State funds will help expand Briarcliff's annual road pavings and repairs, beginning in September.

Starting next month, Briarcliff Manor will be tackling a number of road pavings throughout the village.

"Over the years our roads do deteriorate and patching areas just doesn’t last very long. So when we schedule repaving we want to make our efforts last longer between pavings," Village Manager Philip Zegarelli explained in a recent update. "In some cases, we have road elevation issues and may need to 'mill down' (grind up) the surface layers to prep the overall road surface for the new asphalt."

The project, which will begin in mid-September, will also tackle drainage issues in problem areas such as near the South State Road/Long Hill Road East area.

"Recently we were awarded additional funding from NYS for road work and hope to extend this year’s paving program to other streets," said Zegarelli.
