New Trees on the Way in Downtown Pleasantville

The village plans to replace "severed" trees in the spring.

The "severed trees" in downtown Pleasantville will be replaced as soon as the planting season arrives, Mayor Peter Scherer announced during the February 13 board of trustees meeting.

Scherer said he has been receiving inquiries about the trees that were damaged during Irene, as well as severed by Con Edison afterward, "especially those in front of Iron Horse Grill" and the "tree-and-a-half in front of Le Loft on Manville."

He said the village plans to pull out the damaged trees and re-plant them with smaller trees simultaneously, using heavy equipment, in the coming months.
