Pleasantville Burglary Defendants Head to County

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Ages are as of the date of arrest.

Former students Jahvonne Chambers and Christian DeVeaux, both 17, appeared in for a final time Tuesday with relation to a June 21 case.

The pair, along with two juvenile students, a Wheeler Avenue deli.

Chambers and DeVeaux have remained incarcerated since the incident, and at their , Assistant District Attorney Michael Borelli said offered both defendants an SCI felony hearing in Westchester County.

Chambers' attorney asked the matter be dealt with locally, so a felony hearing was scheduled for Tuesday in the village.

However, after conferencing the matter with their clients, both Chambers' and DeVeaux's attorneys agreed to sign SCI waivers.

No control date was set in Pleasantville.

"Good luck, gentlemen," Village Justice John Curley said to the defendants.
