Pleasantville Preps Village Hall Roof for Repairs

Scaffolding is up around 80 Wheeler Ave. and work is expected to last 90 days.

Parking will be limited on the portion of Bedford Road across from the Police Department for the next three months or so while Village Hall undergoes roof repairs.

Mayor Peter Scherer explained at Monday's Board of Trustees meeting that the parking restrictions have been put into place to allow for the "delivery of materials" to the site during construction.

According to Village Administrator Patricia Dwyer, the work involves repairing 80 Wheeler Ave.'s roof and "cabling" for snow and ice, "so there's a little bit of an enhancement to the project as well."

The village has contracted a company for 90 days and this week involved setting up scaffolding around the building.

An announcement on the village website reads, "Therefore, sidewalks on both sides of the Village Hall will be intermittently closed during the installation of a sidewalk shed and scaffolding."

"Sorry for the [parking] inconvenience," Scherer said, but added once the work is complete, "The roof will be sound."
