Pleasantville's is tackling its annual repaving project at various locations throughout the village.
"Most of you who drive around the village have noticed we are in the midst of our annual repaving project—this year a little braoder scope than in past years" said Mayor Peter Scherer at Monday's board of trustees meeting.
, the Memorial Plaza parking lot has been closed since Thursday for repaving (see attached media) and will reopen on Thursday, Aug. 16.
In addition, portions of Hays Hill Road, Washington Avenue, Romer Avenue and Clinton Street are being repaved.
"The paving work begins [Tuesday], again putting back what we have ground up," Scherer said. "By the end of this week, all of those locations will be back in business. We thank you for your patience in the meantime."
Drivers can expect some detours while the work is underway.
Said Scherer, "It's a little necessary darkness before light and we are going to end up with better conditions on some roads that had suffered quite a bit of damage in recent years."
