The following is from Town of Ossining Supervisor Susanne Donnelly:
Slowly we are putting more neighborhoods/houses back on line. Everyone who does not have power at this point and did not call Con Ed today should do that. PLEASE when you call 1800-75CONED please get a work order number and send it to us via email with your full address. We will be meeting with our liaison again tomorrow to review everyone in the Town of Ossining that does not have power.
Tomorrow is Election Day and we encourage everyone to go out and VOTE. At this point all polling places will be open even if they have to bring in generators. The office is officially closed but I will accessible by e-mail all day and will driving around to see that crews are working in many of the areas still without power.
You may see crews around Town that seem to be “hanging out” but they are waiting for direction from Con Ed as to the next area to work on. Remember some of these crews are coming up from other areas in the county and work sometimes 15 hour days. Many are from out of Town - out of State... so you may not see Con Ed trucks but other utility trucks such as PIKE... these are the people who are going to get us back 100%... We understand the frustration of those who think they are the last to get power but that is not the case... we still have neighborhoods out. Some have more complicated issues than others.
The Community Center will be open for those who want to stay the night in warmth and/or charge up their electronics and /or have a hot shower. Also Club Fit has opened its doors for local residents to warm up and take showers as needed.
If you are worried about your pipes let the water dip from the faucet for the night... it could save you a lot of aggravation in the future.
Preparing for the storm on Wednesday. The storm has not even formed yet according to the forecasters but we need to prepare for high winds and about 1 -2" of rain.
More in the AM again thanks for being patient and those with power please if possible open your doors to friends and relatives.
I will update you tomorrow with more on the cleanup in our Wednesday update.
