U.S. Senate Hopeful Wendy Long Stops in Westchester

Wendy Long, other Republicans gear up for election season at Westchester GOP reception

To New York State Repbulican Party Chairman Edward Cox, Westchester County Republicans have big opportunities to make political change in the 2012 elections.

How does he know that?

"I know (President) Obama is in trouble because he's advertising," Cox said to a gathering of Westchester Republican leaders in Hastings on Wednesday night. "He's advertising in New York. That means he's in trouble."

He made the point as he helped introduce U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long, R-C Manhattan, and asked Westchester County GOP Chairman Douglas A. Colety and other Republican leaders to support her efforts to unseat U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY.

"Westchester knows what its all about," Long told the gathering at the Westchester Manor in Hastings. "The election of 2012 is probably the most important one in our lifetime."

Long criticized the president and Gillibrand for too much government spending and regulation.

"Kirsten Gillibrand symbolizes what's wrong. She has the most terrible record you could imagine," Long said to applause from Republicans gathered for the summer party.

Long said she has challenged Gillibrand to a series of debates and one is being set up for October. However, Long said she wants to have additional debates with the incumbent.

"I need to show her for for the big, No. 1 liberal in the Senate that she is," Long said.

While asking for support, Long specifically asked Westchester Republicans to help her use social media tools including Facebook and Twitter in her campaign.

"We need to take these weapons of the left and use them against them," Long said.

Paul, thanks for the paid movie from Barack and Harry. Look at the success rate at Baine capitol, it was over 80%. What has been the success rate of creating business's by the Obama administration? Unemployment at 8.3% as reported by the Obama ministration. If you really believe that figure then I have a bridge or solar company for you to buy. Look at the source of the movie and then think about it . Good try in smearing Romney, now go join Harry and the rest of the ilk.
