Where/When: Briarcliff Manor Business District (Pleasantville Road) on Thursday, June 7 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Why go: It's the second annual Chili Cook Off for Briarcliff Manor businesses during the Chamber of Commerce-sponsored First Thursday series. In addition to later hours and retail discounts this week, many of the Pleasantville Road stores will be offering up chili samples—and you can vote for your favorite on the stop. Will be able to defend its title ? Stop by to find out. There will also be kids face painting this week.

NEXT Charity Concert Fundraiser
Where/When: (PCTV)/Jackson Alley (Wheeler Avenue entrance) on Friday, June 8 at 8 p.m.
Why go: PCTV and Chris Bro of the have lined up live music, barbecue by and Captain Lawrence beer this Friday. Hang out in Jackson Alley while Robbers on High Street perform live in the PCTV studio, beginning at 9 p.m. The concert will additionally be streamed on pctv76.org and allthingsnext.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit PCTV and The Greyston Foundation. The first 50 ticket purchasers will receive a free copy of a Robbers on High Street CD.

Why go: The Briarcliff Manor Garden Club is hosting a small-standard flower show at Atria on Friday. Everyone is welcome to check out an array of award-winning flowers during the afternoon and evening.

Pleasantville Swim Team Rubber Ducky Race
Where/When: on Sunday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m.
Why go: Support the Pleasantville Swim Team by participating in the first ever Rubber Ducky Race. You can decorate your duck with waterproof materials. The first place prize winner will receive an iPad 2 and second place will receive tickets. Additional prizes for best-decorated, bottoms-up and turned-around ducks will be awarded. Get your ducks at Saturday's free swim clinic at the pool (8:30 to 11 a.m.).
Pricing: Ducks are $5 each or $20 for a family of five
Where/When: Thornwood American Legion (52 Garrigan Ave. Thornwood, NY 10594) on Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m.
Why go: With New York State Senate District 40 picking up Mount Pleasant (including Pleasantville and part of Briarcliff Manor), Sen. Greg Ball is hosting a town hall where residents can ask questions and enjoy a free BBQ.
