Where/When: Memorial Plaza (by ) on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

Why go: Pay tribute to local veterans in a special ceremony featuring an awards ceremony with New York Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, as well as speakers including Superintendent of Schools Mary Fox-Alter and Mayor Peter Scherer.

European Escape: A Wine Tasting Fundraiser

When/Where: Thursday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. at 

Why go: This charity event will feature more than 40 wins from from Italy, Spain and Europe and dishes from Hudson Valley Restaurants and culinary talents including Thyme, The Quiet Man Public House, Division Street Grill, Tastefully Yours Catering, Trump National Westchester and more. Call 914-734-3526 to make reservations. The event is a fundraiser for the Comprehensive Cancer Care Center at Hudson Valley Hospital.

Why go: Bring kids between ages two and up, for books and activities at the synagogue. Siblings and friends are also welcome. Shabbat snacks will be served.

Why go: Support Pleasantville Community Television (PCTV) with John Krysko and Nick Antonaccio during an interactive wine and food pairing fundraiser, titled "Italian Grapes You've Never Heard Of."

Why go: Locals 21 and over are invited to an evening of sushi, cabaret and spirits. Food will be provided by Kira Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar of Chappaqua.

Fall on the Farm 2011 at Stone Barns

Where/When:  on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: It will be a day of family activities and adult workshops celebrating the fall season. Help feed the turkeys, prepare the fields for winter and collect ideas and ingredients for your Thanksgiving table, including homemade beeswax candles.

Price: $7; $5 parking; extra charges for certain activities

"Mysterious Ladies"

Where/When: on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy two one-act plays by M&M Productions titled Mysterious Ladies. See how a suburban housewife's world s turned upside-down when she is confronted by a homicide detective during a day of shopping. Then, Don Nigro picks up a hitchiker who turns out to be unpredictable.
