Briarcliff's Miller Lands Cornwall Superintendent Job

Briarcliff Manor's superintendent will take a significant pay cut as he moves to an Orange County district this summer.

Neal Miller will spend exactly one month between jobs when he bids farewell to the Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District on June 30.

According to a report in the Times Herald-Record, Miller has been chosen to replace the retiring superintendent in the Cornwall Central School District in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.

Miller, then the Media Central School District superintendent, was unanimously chosen by Briarcliff Manor's Board of Education in May of 2011. In January of this year, the board announced Miller would be leaving the district three years before his contract expired for undisclosed reasons

He will be replaced by current Briarcliff High School Principal James Kaishian, who will earn a first-year salary of $240,000.

Miller's initial Briarcliff Manor contract outlined a $235,000 year one salary. In Cornwall, according to the Times Herald-Record report, Miller will be earning $183,000 annually.

The report states Miller's three-year Cornwall contract was agreed upon following a search process that included 14 candidates.
