Five days into recovery efforts after , some Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville residents are still sitting in the dark.
As of 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Con Edison reports 79 Briarcliff Manor and 73 Pleasantville residents are without power.
While initial reports said power restoration throughout the county would be complete by tonight at 11 p.m., Con Ed has since pushed back its estimated time until tomorrow at 11 p.m.
Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer reported this evening that "Con Ed completed major repairs that brought back many customers on Grandview, Eastview, Great Oak and Washington, but, "They did not supply the line crews we expected today, and we saw no progress on Lake, Dogwood and Martling. We're down to roughly 180 homes still dark...which, as we approach day five, is obviously very unhappy news for the people still cold and dark."
This afternoon, Briarcliff Manor still had several areas without power, along with closings on Scarborough Road due to a downed wire, as well as Central Drive.
