Monday: Delayed Openings at Briarcliff, Pleasantville Schools

Pleasantville and Briarcliff Manor students will all head to school tomorrow, but each on delayed schedules. See below for the full details from the districts:

From the Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District:

Power has been restored to our middle school and high school, so we will reopen all three of our schools tomorrow morning, Monday, November 5, on a one-hour delay for all students and staff. This delay will give our parents, students and staff some extra time to be careful going to bus stops and coming to school, as some roads are still blocked. Later this Sunday afternoon, we will contact those families whose bus stop sites will have to be reassigned due to blocked roads and we will give you that information.

We look forward to having our students and staff back in school. This has been a very difficult time, but our community has pulled together, and we can be very proud of this. Thank you.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5th AM

All Out of District and In District transportation will be on an hour delay.

The following In District routes have been changed. Please note, routes may change as work continues to be done on the roads of Briarcliff.

Burns Place and Whitson Road stops can meet the bus at the intersection of Burns Place & Chappaqua Road, the intersection Whitson Road & Fuller Road, or Neighborhood Park intersection.

HSMS #9 - AM 
177 and 124 Quinn Road meet the bus at Quinn Lane

HSMS #11 - AM
Central Drive West, Central Drive, Locust Road, and Cypress Lane meet at the intersection of Old Briarcliff Road & Central Drive or Old Briarcliff Road & Central Drive West
Central Drive and Lodge Road meet at St. Theresa Church Parking lot on Pleasantville Road

Todd Bus B - AM
124 & 176 Quinn Road meet at Quinn Lane

Todd Bus C - AM
Alder Drive and Butternut Road meet at the intersection of Elm Road & Alder Drive

Dear parents and community members,

Allow me to share a few “housekeeping” items for tomorrow:

All 3 schools will be open to receive children at 9:30.  Students who arrive at 9:30 will be supervised.

The MS and HS will each have special schedules due to the student prepared Election 2012 Assembly programs.

• The MS first period will be from 9:30 to 10:12, period 2 starts at 10:15.
• The HS first period is from 9:30 to 9:54, period 2 starts at 9:57.
