Pleasantville Rotary Gives Back to the Community

The international club's local branch works year-round to benefit programs, organizations.

Pleasantville's Rotary Club has been in place since 1924, supporting community programs, local organizations and the schools through community service and camaraderie.

"We raise money for different charities in the community and actually worldwide," said President Susan Fasnacht.

Over the years, the Pleasantville Rotary Club has supported projects and organizations such as the , , the Pleasantville Police Benevolent Association, Rose Hill Cancer Home, the village's Bocce Court, smoke alarms for kindergartners and .

In March, the Pleasantville Rotary Club held its annual fundraiser, which raised funds approximately $12,000 for Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.

On Homecoming Day in the fall, the organization hosted its annual Pancake Breakfast, which benefits the Community Scholarship Fund (CSF) of Pleasantville. CSF awards scholarships to seniors graduating from every year.

Currently, the organization has approximately 33 members and meets weekly at , according to Fasnacht.

"We do a lot of good on a local level and throughout the world," she said. "I also like the comraderie. We do a lot in the community and have a lot of fun."
