Today, the residents went to the polls to cast votes for the 2012-13 schools budget as well as elect two to the board of education for the next three years.

The includes $55,000 for the repair of the tennis courts. The budget is a 1.13 percent overall increase compared to the current year's adopted budget.
The Pleasantville UFSD projects a 1.71 percent tax rate increase for district residents inn the coming year.
Larry Boes and Emily Rubin Persons have been elected to the school board for the term beginning July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2015.

Emily Rubin Persons*: 769
The three candidates were competing for two seats being vacated by current Boad Vice President Thomas Exton and Trustee David McCullagh.
Persons and Boes will join current President Lois Winkler, Trustee Louis Conte and Trustee Shane McGaffey.
A margin of 13 votes separated Klein from Persons.
