The excitement in the air was palpable as Todd Elementary School's kindergarten, first grade and second grade classes gathered outdoors on Monday for the opening of the long-awaited playground.
District voters in August and after a delay when the initial company decided not to build the playground, the site will be open for students for the rest of the year.
