0.1 of a Second Before Buzzer 3-Pointer for New Ro

Khalil Edney's 3-point prayer is answered as New Rochelle boys basketball stuns Mount Vernon.

New Rochelle High School football quarterback Khalil Edney found himself in the right place at the right time during the Class AA Section 1 Basketball Championship game against Mount Vernon Sunday afternoon.

With just seconds on the clock and New Rochelle down by two points, Mount Vernon stole the ball and thinking the clock was about to run out, Mount Vernon's Jalen David threw the ball into the air and it came down in Edney's hands at the Mount Vernon foul line.

The State Champion quarterback then threw another touchdown from three-quarters of the court into the net as the buzzer sounded. Both pandemonium and confusion then erupted as both teams and their fans stormed the court in celebration thinking they had won—Mount Vernon believing the clock had run out before the shot.
