Sunday is Father's Day and there are plenty of ways to celebrate dad over the next several days. If you're looking for a last minute gift, be sure to check out ideas from retailers in and by clicking the villages' names.

Father's Day Sportswriters Panel

Where/When: on Wednesday, June 13 at 7 p.m.

Why go: If dad like sports—or writing—be sure to take him to check out this special panel at the in Pleasantville tonight. USA Today Book Critic Bob Minzesheimer will MC an evening of conversation featuring Rob Fleder, former Sports Illustrated executive editor; Kate Buford, author of Native American Son: The Life and Sporting Legend of Jim Thorpe; Pleasantville's Joe Wallace, author of Diamond Ruby and Robert Sullivan, who authored Our Red Sox: A Story of Family, Friends and Fenway. The books will be for sale by and the authors will sign copies at the event. Wines chosen by the Marmaduke Wine Club will be served in addition to beer, soda and snacks. Wear your favorite team cap or jersey!

Where/When:  on Sunday, June 17 (registration from 7 to 7:45 a.m.; race begins at 8 a.m.)

Why go: Bond with dad during a special race organized by a Pleasantville resident and son of former Briarcliff Manor Firefighter . Proceeds from the second annual race will benefit the Ron Jankowski Memorial Fund, which offers scholarships to local high school students and seminars for volunteer firefighters. .

Pricing: $25/runner

Where/When:  on Saturday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 17 from 12 to 5 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy a pairing of Prospero's 2009 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and the new 2010 "134 Series" Cabernet Sauvignon with braised short ribs. All dads will receive a free cigar at the tasting.

Briarcliff Manor Little League Picnic/Awards Ceremony

Where/When:  on Saturday, June 16 at 10 a.m.

Why go: If Dad is your biggest fan, make sure to bring him to the Little League season at the annual picnic and all-star games. The minors' game kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at Ryder Park (Morningside Drive), followed by the majors at 10:30 a.m. The Law Park picnic will include barbecue, treats, rides and the awards ceremony.

Proco Rosso and Cupcake Decorating

Where/When: on Sunday, June 17 at 12 p.m.

Why go: Bring the whole family to a showing of Proco Rosso, a 1992 film by Hayao Miyazaki. The film is part of JBFC's "Movies for Kids (and their Families)" series. The 94-minute-long film is in Japanese with English subtitles. The film is also playing on Saturday at noon, but Sunday ticket-holders have the chance to decorate their own pig cupcakes in the Jane Peck Gallery following the screening, courtesy of .
