Baseball Uses 19-Hit Barrage to Cruise Past Panthers

The Setters rapped out 19 hits, while hitting a pair of solo homeruns as Pace coasted to a 15-2 victory over the Panthers of Adelphi University in Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division action. Pace improves 21-14 overall, 11-7 in the NE-10 and remain in first place in the Southwest with a 9-1 record.

For Pace, Joe Lombardi (Briarcliff, NY/Briarcliff) went 2-for-3 with three RBI's and two runs scored, while James Pjura (Shelton, CT/Shelton) went 2-for-4 with three RBI's. For the Setters, Jonathan Hornung (Calverton, NY/Riverhead) posted a complete game effort as he allowed two runs on seven hits while striking out three to improve to 2-3 on the season.

Softball Racks Up 24-Hits in Doubleheader Split against Adelphi

The Setters used a 24-hit attack as they came up with a split against the Panthers of Adelphi University in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Panthers took the opener 11-5, while the Setters rallied to take the nightcap 12-8.

Pace moves to 27-15 and 14-12 in the NE-10. In the nightcap, Natalie Gellos (Seattle, WA/Holy Names Academy) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI’s, while Samantha Garcia (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Rancho Cucamonga) had was 2-for-4 with four RBI’s.

Golf Finishes Tied for Third at American International Invitational

The Pace University Golf finished tied for third place at the American International Invitational as they finished with a two-round score of 611 (302-309) in their final tournament of the season. The Setters were led by Brian Allmendinger (East Islip, NY/East Islip) who finished in fourth place with a two-round total of 147 (70-77).
