Briarcliff Women's Tennis Team Wins County Championship

A 4-1 victory over Rye Tuesday secured a perfect 11-0 season for the local women.

On Tuesday, June 18, the Briarcliff Women's Town Tennis Team won the WCTL (Westchester County Tennis League) Championship in the B division with a 4-1 victory over Rye.

The match was played in Briarcliff on the Law Park tennis courts. It was the perfect ending to a perfect (11-0) season for Briarcliff. Other towns in the league are New Castle, Cortlandt, Somers, Ossining, Scarsdale, Rye, Hastings and Lewisboro.

The league is directed by Ike Kuzio the recreation supervisor with the Westchester County Parks, Recreation & Conservation department. There are 3 separate divisions: A (4.0), B (3.5) and C (3.0). The matches are coordinated through the local recreation departments.
