It's always good to get your first win as a varsity coach and that is what Pleasantville first-year boys basketball boss Chris Welsh did on Dec. 5 when the Panthers traveled to Alexander Hamilton.
There, came away with a 66-51 triumph, paced by 12 points apiece from Nick Greto and Glen Robinson. Greto also contributed eight rebounds.

Pleasantville grapplers win
Pleasantville's wrestling squad came away with a 51-30 triumph against visiting Our Lady of Lourdes on Dec. 5.
James Bathon, Mark Taino, Thomas Marrone, Brandon Castro and Obum Anyichie earned pins for the Panthers.
Girls youth hoop result
Briarcliff played well in its sixth grade girls division contest of the Tri-County Basketball League on Dec. 1 but lost to RJS 33-20.
