THE GYM of Armonk Sponsors The 51st Annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show and Foot Race

THE GYM of Armonk has signed up to be a Gold Corporate Sponsor for the 51st Annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show and Foot Race. Consistently ranked among the top “fine art and design shows” in the New York Metro Area by Sunshine Artist Magazine and #15 nationwide by Art Fair SourceBook, the show has a history of 51 successful years showcasing art outdoors and will continue the tradition on Saturday and Sunday, September 29th – 30th from 10:00am to 5:00pm (rain or shine). Over 185 juried artists will be featured - many new to this year’s show - displaying their creations in a broad spectrum of media: oils/acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, printmaking/drawing/pastels, sculpture, photography/digital art, wearable art, and fine crafts.  Fine art and fine crafts are available to suit every taste and budget.

The festivities will kick off the weekend prior to the Art Show on Friday September 21st with free art-themed films at the North Castle Public Library and a free concert, featuring legendary jazz performer, Charlie Lagond, at the library on Saturday, September 22nd.

The Foot Race will be held at Wampus Brook Park and begins at 9:45am. T-Shirts will be provided to the first 300 runners who sign up for either the Monet Mile Run or the Running Rembrandt 5K Run/Walk, and ribbons/medals will be awarded as outlined below.

  • 9:45am: Stretching sponsored by THE GYM
  • 10:00am: Petites Picassos 100 Yard Dash for ages 2-8.  FREE!
  • 10:15am: Monet Mile Run (chip timing)  (Entry fee is $10 before 9/23 and $15 on 9/23)
  • 10:30am: Stretching sponsored by THE GYM
  • 11:00am: Running Rembrandt 5K Run/Walk (chip timing)  (Entry fee is $20 before 9/23 and $25 on 9/23)

Awards include ribbons to all participants in the Petites Picassos 100 Yard Dash, Medals to the top 20 male and female finishers in the Monet Mile Run and age-group medals for male and female finishers in the Running Rembrandt 5K Run/Walk.

This year’s art show is bound to be a huge success and will also feature docent tours and a children’s treasure hunt. The Art Show will be located at Community Park at Business Park Drive, Armonk, NY, Exits 3/3S off Route I-684, 10 miles north of I-287 and I-95, 5 miles from Merritt and Hutchinson Parkways, and 20 minutes from the Tappan Zee Bridge. There is ample free parking on site, as well as children’s activities and a full food court.
