Girls basketball
The Section 1 Class B girls basketball tournament begins today, which also includes the local squads Briarcliff and Pleasantville.

Ice Cats head into playoffs
Section I Division I Mount Pleasant Ice Cats (#10) are heading into the sectionals tournament on Sunday againgst Clarkstown (#7). The two teams will face off at the Palisades Center Ice Rink at 7:15 p.m.
Girls youth hoops
Pleasantville has enjoyed a solid year in the seventh grade division of the Tri-County Basketball League, with a 12-2 record.
That mark includes a 44-35 triumph against the Harrison Huskies Feb. 12.
