Martineson’s Walk-Off Two-Run Homerun Powers Baseball to Win over Assumption

Brandon Martineson (Warwick, NY/Warwick) blasted a walk-off two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Setters to a thrilling 5-3 win over the Greyhounds of Assumption College in Northeast-10 Southwest Division action. The Setters improve to 23-16 overall, 13-8 in the NE-10 and remain in first place in the division with an 11-2 record.

The Setters return to action on Wednesday, April 25 when they will host the Chargers of the University of New Haven in a NE-10 Southwest Division game at 3:00 pm at Pace's Finnerty Field.

Lacrosse Falls to #6 Merrimack 16-9

Matt Mirabito (Binghamton, NY/Broome CC) finished with five points (three goals, two assists) as the Setters fell to #6 Merrimack College 16-9 in Northeast-10 Conference action. Pace falls to 5-8 overall and 3-6 in the NE-10.Kevin Kadlick (Boston, MA/Catholic Memorial) finished with a pair of goals. John Kolesar (Warwick, NY/Warwick)totaled three points on a goal and a pair of assists.

In net, Kevin Grady (Medford, NY/Bellport)recorded 18 saves in 60 minutes of action in goal for the Setters. Pace returns to action on Wednesday, April 25 when the Setters will host Mercy College in a non-conference match-up at Pace Field at 3 pm for their final home game of the season.
