Pace Cross Country Season Kicks Off

The women's and men's teams placed fourth and sixth, respectively, at the Hofstra Brick Stone Invitational.

Men’s Cross Country Places Sixth at Season Opening Hofstra Brick Stone Invitational

BETHPAGE, N.Y.- The Setters opened their 2012 season with a sixth place finish in the Division II/III group at the Hofstra Brick Stone InvitationalKeith Collazo (Pleasant Valley, NY/Arlington) led the Setters as he finished in 16th place with a time of 17:36.47.

Chris Carlson (Avon, CT/Avon) finished in 23rd place with a time of 18:11.45, while freshmanRyan Denver (Shrewsbury, NJ/Red Bank) came in 32nd place with a time of 18.39.00. John Netto (Lagrangeville, NY/Arlington) ran a time of 19:52.21, good for 44th place, while freshman Mychael Lotocky (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) rounded out the top Pace finishers with a time of 19:54.67.

The Setters return to action on Saturday, September 15 when they will compete in the LIU Post Invitational in Brookville, NY.

Women’s Cross Country Finishes in Fourth Place at Season Opening Hofstra Brick Stone Invitational

BETHPAGE, N.Y.- The Setters opened their 2012 season with a fourth place finish in the Division II/III group at the Hofstra Brick Stone Invitational. Mary O'Shea (Bronxville, NY/Ursuline) was the Setters top finisher as she came in ninth place with a 5K time of 20:48.19.

Senior Brianna Cano (Franklin Square, NY/Valley Stream North) finished in 14th place as she ran a time of 21:12.43, while freshman Sara DiGiovanna (Rio Rancho, NM/V. Sue Cleveland)finished right behind Cano with a time of 21:29.33 in 15th place. Katelyn Spadalik (North Massapequa, NY/Farmingdale) came in 40th place with a time of 24:51.94, while Brianna Williams (Waterbury, CT/ Kennedy) rounded out the top-five finishers for Pace as she ran a time of 27:02.54, coming in 53rd place.

The Setters return to action on Saturday, September 15 when they will compete in the LIU Post Invitational in Brookville, NY.
