Pace Soccer Comes Up Short Against Penmen

The Setters fell 0-2 in a conference matchup this week.

Pleasantville, N.Y.- The Setters fall to the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) 2-0 in a pivotal conference match-up.  The Setters stand at 5-6-3 overall and 5-5-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference, while the Penmen advance to 9-3-2 overall and 7-3-2 in conference play.  Pace is currently ranked seventh in the conference out of 16 teams in the NE-10. 

Pace dominated the ball in Penmen territory for a majority of the game.  Ashley Jaskula got away on a fast break for their first goal on an assist from Kaleigh Roberge 8:35 into the game.  Pace out-shot SNHU in the first half 8-6.

Morgan Branco scored the second goal for the Penmen at 77:21 after Bethi Ledoux's shot hit the post to assist Branco's goal.  SNHU ended up totaling 13 shots on goal to Pace's 11. 

Maggie Weldon spent all 90 minutes in the goal for the Penmen and recorded two saves.  Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY / New Paltz) made a couple crucial saves in her 90 minutes in goal to total three saves on the day.

The Setters will host New Haven on Tuesday, October 16 at 4 pm.  New Haven is ranked just above Pace in the conference with a record of 5-4-1.
