Women’s Tennis Sweeps Way to First Win of the Season

The women's tennis swept their way to their first win of the season with a 9-0 victory over American International in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Setters improve to 1-11 overall and in the NE-10. Simona Mrazova (Bratislava, Slovakia/QSI International) cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at #1 singles, while Liz Plakhotnaya (Rocky Hill, CT/Rocky Hill) won at #2 singles 6-2, 6-0.

Martineson Drives in Five Runs as Baseball Downs Queens

Brandon Martineson (Warwick, NY/Warwick) blasted a pair of homeruns and drove in five runs as the Setters rolled past Queens 14-8 in non-conference action. The Setters improve to 17-14 overall. Martineson finished the day, going 2-for-3 with five RBI’s, while James Pjura (Shelton, CT/Shelton) was 3-for-5 with three RBI’s. 

Lynch Selected to NE-10 All-Academic Team

Sophomore Kaitlyn Lynch (Vallejo, CA/Solano C.C.) from the Women’s Swimming and Diving, has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Academic All-Conference team for the 2011-2012 winter athletic season. Lynch is in her second season with the Swimming and Diving Team at Pace.  The Criminal Justice and Psychology double major participates in the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly for the Setters and had a 3.69 GPA. 

Golf Takes Second Place at Mike Bello Invitational

The Pace University Golf finished in second place at the Mike Bello Invitational as they finished with a score of 323. The Setters were led by Rob Sorrentino (Tarrytown, NY/Archbishop Stepinac) who came in seventh place with a score of 78.
