Pace Volleyball Duo Earns Conference Recognition

Mount Kisco's Nora Rugova and freshman Megan Kurz received player and rookie of the week honors.

Pleasantville, N.Y.- Pace Senior Nora Rugova (Mt. Kisco, NY / Fox Lane) and Freshman Megan Kurz(San Diego, Calif. / Patrick Henry) have been awarded Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by the Northeast-10 Conference for their efforts on the volleyball court this past week.  They have helped their team gain momentum on their four-match winning-streak. 

Rugova has been named as the NE-10 Player of the Week for week 8 of competition in conference play.  Rugova totaled 13 kills and 11 digs in the 3-0 shut-out against Southern Connecticut State University on October 16.  She recorded 14 kills, 19 digs and two serving aces against Merrimack where Pace beat them 3-1 on October 19.  The Setters won 3-1 over UMass Lowell as Rugova finished with 15 kills and 14 digs.  She averaged 3.82 kills and 4 digs per set in 11 sets played for the Setters.  Rugova currently ranks 2nd in the conference in total kills on the season with 267.

Kurz has stepped up as a freshman to aid in the past five out of six victories for Pace. She averaged 4.09 kills and 3.64 digs along with five total blocks in a 3-0 week. Kurz posted 12 kills and 12 digs in a 3-0 win over So. Connecticut then tallied 17 kills and 12 digs along with four blocks in a 3-1 win over Merrimack. She finished the week with 16 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1 win over UMass Lowell.

Pace volleyball will host Stonehill on Friday, October 26 at 7 p.m. before hitting the road to play at Dowling Saturday, October 27.
