Pace Volleyball Heads to Conference Quarterfinals

After a sweep over Saint Anselm, the Setters prepare to face Franklin Pierce on Tuesday.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Nora Rugova (Mt. Kisco, NY/Fox Lane) tallied 16 kills and 14 digs as the Setters swept the Hawks of Saint Anselm College 3-0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-21) in Northeast-10 Conference action. Pace wraps up the regular season with a record of 16-17 and 10-5 in the NE-10, while the Hawks end their season at 9-16 and 5-10 in conference play.

Prior to the match, the Setters honored their six volleyball seniors in Rugova, Tamilee Webb (Hartsdale, NY/Ardsley)Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley)Sara Atai (Setauket, NY/Ward Melville)Susana Verdugo Del Real (Chula Vista CA/Southwest) and Shawna Dykens (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) for their contributions and effort during four year careers as members of the Pace University Volleyball program.

In the match, Verdugo Del Real was second on the team with 12 kills along with five digs, while Atai totaled nine kills, eight assists and three blocks. Rowland finished with 15 digs in the match, while Brooke Speyerer (Winter Haven, FL/Lake Region) added 30 assists, two aces and 11 digs.

The Setters have clinched the #6 seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 Championship Quarterfinals and will travel to #3 seed Franklin Pierce on Tuesday, November 13 at 5 p.m.
