Pace Volleyball Looks to Make a Splash in NE-10

The Pleasantville-based Setters were picked to finish fourth in a coaches' pre-season poll.

Coming off a sixth place finish in the Northeast-10 Conference in 2011, 's Division II women's volleyball team is looking to improve this season.

In the preason coaches' poll, the Setters were picked to finish in fourth place, behind the University of New Haven, Stonehill College and Adelphi University, according to a press release from Pace.

Seven new players will be joining the team this season, joining leading players including Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley), a senior and reigning libero of the year; and fellow senior Nora Rugova (Mount Kisco, NY/Fox Lane)—who tallid 327 kills last season.

The Setters return to action on August 31 with a non-conference tournament at Rollins College.

On September 21, the team opens at home with the Setters' Fall Classic—an eight-team tournament to be held at the Goldstein Fitness Center, with Nova Southeastern, Molloy, St. Mary's (Tx.) and Texas A&M International.

They begin conference play on September 29 at home against Bentley University, which will also be the first Pace Volleyball Alumni Day.
