Pleasantville's remarkable ride from No. 18 seed to the Section 1 Class C Final Four ended on Thursday as it fell to host No. 11 Hendrick Hudson 14-7 in the Class C semifinals at Irwin J. Mayer Memorial Field.
The Panthers went toe to toe with the Sailors in the first half as the game was tied at 2-2 before Hen Hud broke the tie by scoring the last two goals of the first half with just 1:38 to go before halftime.

“We thought that we were executing everything really well offensively and defensively in the first half," Pleasantville Coach Chris Kear said. "We held them to only four and that was winning only one face-off the entire first half."
Unfortunately according to Kear, "we weren’t sticking our shots" thanks to Hen Hud goalie Eddie Gilman, who was outstanding in making 23 saves.
"Their goalie came up big in that first half," Kear said. "We had flurries, especially in that second quarter where we thought we had some great scoring chances and we didn’t put it past him. We played against him before and he brought his A game, so credit to him.”
