River Rowing Take Gold, Silver and Bronze in Mercer Sprints

Pleasantville's Ryan Sullivan helps mens' novice squad earn third place.

  • Award: Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in Mercer Sprints

NYACK, NY (April 22, 2013) –  Nyack-based River Rowing Association’s Competitive Youth rowing team took First, Second and Third Place in the Mercer Lake Sprints Regatta  on April 20 in West Windsor, NJ.  

The winning boats were all competing in the Novice class events:

Womens Novice Quad, First Place:  Lucy Tasker (Tappan Zee), Sarah Bennett, Katie Weibicke (Immaculate Heart Academy), and Clancy Gray (Nyack).

Mens Novice Quad, Second Place:  Eric Soeder (Nyack), Shawn McNulty-Kowal (Northern Valley Regional -Old Tappan), Ethan Jaynes (Clarkstown North) and Adam Dolan (Nanuet).

Mens Novice Quad, Third Place: Adam Tantawi (Northern Valley Regional – Demarest), Tyler Jenss (Nyack), Milo Fradianni (Nyack), and Ryan Sullivan (Pleasantville).

The team, composed of high school students from New York and New Jersey, were among over 2300 high school Junior Athletes gathered from around the region to compete in this annual event hosted by the Princeton National Rowing Association. The River Rowing Association team was one of 60 teams from the Mid-Atlantic and New England states to compete in 36 different events.
