Track: Panthers, Bears and Trojans Compete in Triple Meet

Pleasantville Panthers and Briarcliff Bears contended well at the meet.

Monday’s track meet between the host Briarcliff Bears, cross-town rival Pleasantville Panthers and Class B’s Blind Brook Trojans was all three squads' final tune-up before their prospective league meets.

Both the Briarcliff and Pleasantvile squads prevailed against the Blind Brook Trojans—66-61—on the Pleasantville boys side and 98-28 on the girls.

Briarcliff boys and girls track took the rivalry victory over Pleasantville, 87-36, in boys competition and 70-57 on the girls side.

The Briarcliff boys succeeded 89-43 over the Trojans with the Briarcliff girls conquering the Rye Brook school, 91-30.

's Panthers boys currently stand at 3-2 overall heading into Monday’s 4:15 p.m. Class C League Westchester Meet at Westlake High School. The Panthers' girls team stands at 2-3 overall.

The host Bears finished an undefeated 7-0 on the boys side. The girls also finished strong “showing dramatic year to year improvement with a 6-1 record,” as Briarcliff Head Track Coach Sean Ryan indicates heading into the all-league meet.

Blind Brook will compete at Valhalla for a 4:15 p.m. Class B league meet on Tuesday.

Briarcliff's girls 4x4 relay team of junior Rebecca Bianco, sophomore Madeline Zimmerman, and freshmen Sophie Feuer and Lauren Miller to breaking the event’s school record of 4:24.2, at 4:21.9 from 4:18.0.

 The team dramatically improved their overall best from 4:46.3 to 4:24.2 this past winter season. Ryan says to look for continued surpassment of the 4:18.0 this season and a great continued start for the track program overall.
