Video Preview: 2013 Pace Football

Pace players and coaches weigh in on the season that begins next weekend.

The Pace University football team gets set for a historic game as they open up their 2013 season against Alderson Broaddus in Philippi, W.V. It will be the first Division-II game for the Battlers.

Scouting the Setters
Pace returns seven starters on offense, led by Grad Student wide receiver, Matt Tarpley(Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata/Univ. of Mississippi) and junior running back, Blair Wynn(Englewood, N.J./St. Joseph Regional). Tarpley played in eight games in 2012 and led the Setters with 930 all-purpose yards while finishing second on the squad with 47 catches and 500 receiving yards. Wynn led Pace in rushing with 349 yards on the season. Also set to make key contributions for the Setters is junior wide receiver Cameron Davis (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Providence) who was one of two Pace players to have at least one reception in every game last season.

The season opener kicks off at Alderson Broaddus at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
