About three years ago, Head Coach A.J. Thau received an email from the Side-Out Foundation and got involved.

"We did a couple of bake sales a year and dedicated one game," she said. "We sold lanyards. Last year we decided to do it on our own. We hold bake sales throughout the season."

Last weekend, the varsity, junior varsity and modified teams all walked in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event at Manhattanville College in Purchase under the team name Briarcliff Bears Battle Breast Cancer.

After the walk, the volleyball program tallied up more than $2,700 in donations and bake sale revenues.

"The 24th [tomorrow] is the last game of the season," revealed Thau. "We make uniforms and we all dress in pink. The kids love it."
