Why go: Cheer on the brave faculty and staff of the  at the Community Scholarship Fund's annual entertaining Harlem Wizards game. This year, you can purchase tickets in advance at  or . At the game, you can purchase raffle tickets for basketballs and the chance to win a free stay at Mineral Resort & Spa in New Jersey—home of the Wizards' official training camp. Refreshments and souvenirs will be sold at the game. There will also be a free autograph signing following the match.

Where/When:  on Sunday, April 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go: This all-day carnival will have games, rides and refreshments for kids, including a zip line and suspension bridge, obstacle course, bounce ride. Get an airbrush tattoo and enjoy the spring outdoors. Rain date is May 20.

Why go: Just out on DVD is The Muppets (PG). Go on an adventure with the whole crew by joining community members for this big screen feature. Bring your own snacks.

Spring Gala

Where/When: The Wilcox Gym at in Pleasantville on Saturday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Why go: The will be honoring Arc Stages Advisory Board Member and Chappaqua resident Michael Baker, Pleasantville Mayor Peter Scherer and LVP Member and Briarcliff Manor resident Claude Tusk at its annual gala. The evening will consist of a cocktail hour, light dinner, dessert, performances by several professional groups and LVP students and a silent auction.

Pricing: $100 suggested donation

Friends of the Mount Pleasant Library Book Fair

Where/When:  on Friday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why go: The 2012 spring book fair kicks off with a preview for "Friends" of the library on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. If you can't wait, you can join the friends by signing up at the door. There will be hundreds of books for kids and adults, as well as CDs and DVDs for sale.

Where/When: on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m.

Why go: Help raise funds for the MVP Basketball Camp by enjoying an evening of table tennis at Pleasantville resident and New York Times crossword puzzle Editor Will Shortz's Tompkins Avenue facility. There will be music, contests, demonstrations, a silent auction, food and refreshments including beer, wine and soda. "Krazy" Tyrone, a ping pong stunt artist, will make an appearance. Pricing: $40 adult ($50 at the door), $20 child ages 16 and under ($25 at the door) and $100 per family of two adults and two children ($125 at the door)
