Pleasantville Day/High School Arts Show

Where/When: Memorial Plaza and Jacob Burns Film Center Media Arts Lab on Saturday, May 19 beginning at 10 a.m.

Why go: For more than 20 years, the annual 5K Run/Walk and one mile fun run for kids has been held on Pleasantville Day to benefit the Pleasantville Community Scholarship Fund. The race begins at 9 a.m., fun run starts at 8:30 a.m. Pre-register online here to get a free t-shirt. 

Pricing: $25/5K; $15/fun run

Where/When:  on Friday, May 18 at 7 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy a showing of the 2011 interpretation of Jane Eyre, a classic Charlotte Bronte novel, on the library's big screen. Light refreshments will be served. Registration is recommended—call 941-7072 or email sglick@wlsmail.org.

Where/When:  Frances G. Wills Auditorium on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Why go: Modern and lyrical numbers prevail in this year's dance concert. Pieces are choreographed by middle and high school students in the dance clubs. See for more on this year's concert and for coverage of lat year's concert.

Where/When:  on Saturday, May 19 from 7 to 11 a.m.

Why go: Start off Pleasantville Day with a community pancake breakfast at the Bedford Road church. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit .
